What is Accountability?

We all talk a lot about it but what does accountable look like? What does it mean amidst multi-generational teams, the move from industrial to digital, full time jobs vs gig economy. When I ask people about what accountability means to them they often say it's knowing someone is on board and has their back, as part of the team. Here's my take on this and I am happy for you to share it with attribution. People will have their views and I am sure you will share them but let's start a conversation.
